Oceanographers divide the ocean into different vertical zones defined by physical and biological conditions. The four most important ones are the photic zone includes the oceans from the surface to a depth of 200m ,the most biodiverse, the mesopelagic, which is the uppermost region the bathypelagic zone and the abyss.
